Sunny Pine Chevre

Chevre is French for Goat’s cheese -  i.e. cheeses made out of goat’s milk. They are popular among elderly and children who are more likely to show low tolerance to cow’s milk. Also, goat cheeses are lower in fat, and higher in vitamin A and potassium. They serve as a perfect substitute for many dieters. 

Goat cheeses have a unique, tart, earthy flavor that sets them apart from cow cheeses. Milk production of goats, unlike of cow’s, is seasonal from mid-March through October. 

 Chevres are excellent dessert and appetizer cheeses, often served as snacks or before dinner drinks.  They also work great in quiches, sandwiches, or salads.

We have 4 different flavors of goat chevre:

plain, garlic/basil, honey/lavender, black pepper/garlic, and parsley/chive.  

Sunny Pine Goat Feta

The defining characteristic of feta cheese is that it is brined or pickled. The brining process gives feta cheese a salty, tangy flavor and a crumbly consistency. 

Feta cheese can be served as a table cheese, used in baking savory dishes, or served as an appetizer or in salads. The classic Greek salad is made with Feta cheese. Feta cheese and spinach are often featured together in Greek recipes such as the traditional Spanakopita, which is a spinach and feta cheese pie baked in phyllo dough.

European Style Yogurt

Our yogurt is high in beneficial bacteria and has a very tart and tangy flavor.  It's consistency is thinner than that of cow yogurt that you buy in the store - almost like kefir.  Therefore it's a great drinking yogurt.  It's perfect for making smoothies and we have found it's great in baking!  Adding it to your biscuit mix will give your biscuits a flavor that you'll love!  Fans of our yogurt are all hooked and have claimed that it has greatly improved their digestive health.
